Eastern Creek Track Day

Monday, October 12th, 2009

Hey guys,

So last weekend I paid a visit with my motorbike to the Eastern Creek Raceway with some of the guys from the cbr250.com forum, and put our bikes up to a challenge.

180km/h down the straight and about 80km/h around some corners, the day was a REAL thrill. Here’s a nice photo to sum it up :D

Wiseman’s Ferry CBR250.com run

Sunday, July 5th, 2009

Just got home from an AWESOME run with the CBR250.com crew to Wiseman’s Ferry and back VIA the old pacific highway. A strong turn out of about 20 people, with bikes ranging from 250cc to 1000cc, a great day was had!

Getting more confident on my turns now, I’m able to lean more into the corners meaning I can take them a bit more smoothly without running wide from standing too tall.

Check out the pics here http://cbr250.com/cbr250/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=59202 !!

Can’t wait until the next run :)

CBR250.com

Wednesday, July 1st, 2009

Hey guys,

So I’ve joined a great online forum/community at CBR250.com which is basically a community for bikers (primarily owners of CBR250s :P ), but everyone is welcome. It’s a place to compare bikes, get tips on servicing bike, selling/buying bikes and gear and organising regular ride outs.

I went on my first ride out the other night through the Eastern Suburbs. We met at Harry’s cafe in Wooloomooloo (spelling?) and rode for a good hour before ending up at a Japanese restaurant on King st. I absolutely love it!

Got another ride out this Sunday, meeting at Dural Maccas and riding to Wiseman’s Ferry for lunch, then doing a big loop to head back home. My new CBR is getting some good action as I’ve been riding her every day for plenty of practice :)

Can’t wait until sunday. Make sure you guys check out those forums, they’re great if you a fan of the two-wheelers.

Last day of work!

Friday, June 29th, 2007

Well, today (29th June) was my last day of work, at Sydney West Area Health Service in ITD. It was a very quick 6 months, thats for sure. Met some GREAT people while working there. Now that it’s over, everything is now full steam ahead for the final preps for europe, starting from tomorrow night with the going away shin dig.

Good luck to everyone at SWAHS for the remainder of the year. David, best role model you could hope for. Great bloke, knows everything and everyone, and is a great guy to work with. Nathan, the loud and confident one of the bunch. Always had a great laugh and stroll to the kitchen everyday. Avenal, the new guy. Absolute champion, worked with him for 3 months, feels like 3 years. Best of luck with the kids, make sure you email me pics and what not! Ava, the quiet achiever. In your own little office, away from the the rest of us, always managed to get everything done and come for a good chat when she was bored! Finally… Michelle, the Smilling Assassin boss. Could never catch her without a smile on the face. Walked out of my initial interview thinking ‘I absolutely NAILED that’ because she was smiling through the whole thing. Best boss I’ve ever had, could not have gotten on any better with her. She’s a westy, and thats what makes her so cool. She was just one of the guys… basically.

So, best of luck to you guys, make sure you keep up to date with the euro site. I’ll definately see you when I return.

1 Month until Europe!

Sunday, June 10th, 2007

Wow! Time sure does fly. For those of you who don’t know, on the 11th of July, Justin and Myself will be departing for Europe for until the end of this year and will be joined by Liam around september.

Time has been flying! Theres now only 1 month to go, 31 days to be precise, and boy-o-boy am I getting nervous! We’ve organised our return tickets, insurance, bags, passports and all the other essentials thanks to our very up to scratch travel agent Brooke Kearney (Kriston’s sister). She’s basically done everything for us!

We’re flying China Eastern Airlines!!! I know what your thinking ‘Air Flop’ right? Well they refurbished their fleet last year with 30 odd new planes, so hopefully we will be lucky enough to snag one of the newer planes. Its a 12 or so hour flight from Sydney, landin in Shanghai, China for a one night stopover, then leaving again the next morning on a 10 hour flight straight onto Heathrow.

As for accomodation, we’re using a network known as ‘Couchsurfing’. CS is a global community of, I guess backpackers and other travellers, who put up a couch in their place for fellow travellers to crash for a night or so to help with the burden of accomodation costs. Fab idea imho, so I’ve been hard at work trying to line up some hosts. We will start off with Brenda in London for 2 nights, which will ofcourse be our first CS experience; however, Brenda seems to be the most lively person!! So all should be great! After that, we’re going to stay with a group of people in the other end of London for a further 4 nights, before heading to Paris for a few weeks with Justin’s aunt, then down to Bordeaux for a few nights.

From there, who knows. Play it by ear as they say. I guess it will be a case of hop on the train and hop of where ever it takes us!

Will update with some photos soon.
