Fireman

Saturday, July 7th, 2007

Hi Guys,

I was just going through some of my old uni stuff, and came across these 2 photos which I took in the studios of UWS. They feature Ron Goodman (firefighter) and Liam Newbury (victim). Bit dusty as they’re scans, but I guess it adds to the effect. What do you think?

Ground Hog

Hey all!
For once, I decided that I’d go for a walk today on my break while at work (Sydney West Area Health Service), and I came across this weird looking tree. It would seem that two trees have grown in the same spot. So without thinking twice, went straight to the car to get my camera and came back to take some shots.

Also, while I was there, saw this pretty iconic image, so took a shot of it too.

Finding Hope Amongst Chaos

Friday, May 18th, 2007

The latest addition to my collection. Not quite your ‘run of the mill’ kind of image, but it grows on you after a few looks. Don’t really know where the idea for this one came from. I guess I was just trying to think of a way to keep up with my previous image (below).

This image consists of 7 photos. At first it was only 3, then 4… 5… 6… hell, why not go for 7. Sitting firmly in the back, is a picture of a hand holding a lime, chucked the graffiti wall on top, covered the lime with a nice white ball. Overlayed it with a cloudy sky then they angel statue and finally a dove on top of that. Thought it was looking good, but the background was too… static? So following up from previous, I found a good sandstone wall which made a nice overlay, followed by some thin and tangled vines. What do you think? Post a comment :)

HDR: High Dynamic Range

Tuesday, May 15th, 2007

So there I was, taking photos and uploading them like a sucker with poor exposure and terrible contrast. I was flicking through Chris’ Flickr portfolio and stumble across a lot of his photos; using the HDR technology with Photomatix. Basically, it allows you to manipulate the shit out of your photo, to bring out colours, brightness, darkness, emphasize certain parts etc.

Anyways, I thought I’d have a stab at it. Of course – mine aren’t that great… yet, but I AM working on it, so bear with and I’ll have some awesome looking shots in no time. (oh and yeah, when I get my new camera when I’m back from Europe).
Anyways, here is my first attempt at HDR.

Earthmover (HDR)

So until I have more stuff to rant about…

Picasso or Photoshop ?

Monday, May 14th, 2007

Well… another Mothers Day has passed, and in doing so, my camera has snapped oh so many times. Some photos came out nicely, but for the ones which did not, I thought I would try and edit them so that… well; maybe I could have something to show? Low and behold they didn’t turn out all so bad?

Keep in mind, all of my photos (or ones that I dont mind you seeing) are stored in my Flickr portfolio, so head on over there when you get a chance, but for those lazy ones out there, here are a few of my edited photos that wouldn’t have made the cut if they weren’t!

Ah, here’s one – not edited, but thought I’d show – a nice bowl of ice cream. Thought it looked pretty good, so snap snap :)

Yummm!

Until Next Time
